Second Opinion

At about 4:00pm today we got a call from Children's Hospital in Cincinnati, there is a very good ENT Dr there. M2 has been on the wait list to see him for a little over 2 months. He has an opening on Wednesday morning and M2 has been invited to come. So of course we are going!

Our ENT Dr here is nice, we really like him, however he does not know what has caused M2's vocal cords to be paralyzed, and has no idea how to fix them. He is hoping they will just correct themselves. But he has no idea if they will, or when. The Dr in Cincinnati has done a lot of work with paralyzed vocal cords so we are hoping he can give us more information. If he has no other information or ideas than what we've already been told, then so be it. But hopefully he will have some info.

M2's appt is at 8am starting with a physical and then they will take him to the OR and put him under anesthesia and stick a camera down his throat and have a look around. This procedure is called a Bronch and DL. He's had this procedure done maybe 6 or 7 times. I don't even remember exactly how many times any more. After this they will come out and meet with us and hopefully come up with some sort of plan of action. We'll just have to see what happens.

We will have to leave our house at about 5:30am to make the drive in to Cincinnati. M1 will be staying at Mama's and Papa's, we don't tell him when M2 has dr appts. he just worries too much.

I'm so hopeful that we'll get more info. Cincinnati here we come.
